This website is operated by Digitize My Tapes, a trading name of Polarity Films Ltd. Throughout the site, the terms “we”, “us” and “our” refer to Digitize My Tapes. We offer this website, including all information, tools and services available from this site to you, the user, conditioned upon your acceptance of all terms, conditions, policies and notices stated here.
By visiting our site and/ or purchasing a service from us via the website or in person, you engage in our “Service” and agree to be bound by the following terms and conditions (“Terms of Service”, “Terms”), including those additional terms and conditions and policies referenced herein and/or available by hyperlink. These Terms of Service apply to all users of the site, including without limitation users who are browsers, vendors, customers, merchants, and/ or contributors of content.
Please read these Terms of Service carefully before accessing or using our website. By accessing or using any part of the site, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to all the terms and conditions of this agreement, then you may not access the website or use any services. If these Terms of Service are considered an offer, acceptance is expressly limited to these Terms of Service.

We reserve the right to update, change or replace any part of these Terms of Service by posting updates and/or changes to our website. It is your responsibility to check this page periodically for changes. Your continued use of or access to the website following the posting of any changes constitutes acceptance of those changes.
Ordering
By agreeing to these Terms of Service, you represent that you are at least 18 years of age, if anyone under the age of 18 uses this site it is assumed that you have given us your consent to allow any of your minor dependents to use this site.
You may not use our services for any illegal or unauthorised purpose, nor may you, in the use of the Service, violate any laws in your jurisdiction (including but not limited to copyright laws). It is your responsibility to ensure you hold the copyright, or have permissions from the copyright holder of the material you send to us for transfer, we do not accept any responsibility for any copyright claims, and any claims will be transferred to you. You own the copyright if you have filmed the content, or if it has been transferred to you. If you are unsure, please get in touch so we can advise.
In regard to your supplied tapes, some tapes may be too degraded or damaged to play, usually a result of poor storage or mistreatment over their lifetime. We will do our best to transfer every tape you provide to us, but if a tape is too badly degraded and it won’t play, or breaks, we can’t be held responsible. However the cost of the transfer will be refunded to you. Furthermore, if a tape is blank, we will refund you the cost for that tape. Charge only applies to tapes that have had footage transferred from them, regardless of length.
Pricing
The cost to transfer a tape to digital file is £20, however for VHS the cost is £20 for tapes up to 90 mins, see the VHS product page for pricing of longer tape lengths. Supply of the digital files can be delivered on USB Drive or DVD (CD for Audio) and charged separately. However for all products (except Floppy Disk), the USB Drive and Storage Tin is free when ordering 10 or more.
Quality
Whilst we offer an advanced digitising service, with advanced techniques to improve picture/sound quality, results are however limited to the quality of the original recording, such as, how it was recorded. If the footage has low-light (which produces lots of noise in the image), poor focus, shaky filming, sound issues etc. then this is how it will be digitised. The result will be the best possible digitising quality for a recording. No responsibility will be accepted for poor quality filming or audio capture.
Order Time
We aim to return your order within 5-working days, however, please allow up to 28 days for us to complete your order. Busy times and demand greatly affect our turnaround times. Remember, if your tape is 1 hour long, it will take 1 hour to capture it, plus post-processing time and conversion. Any long delays in processing orders will be displayed at the time of ordering. All orders are based on a ‘first come, first served basis’, however if you require an expedited service, please contact us to discuss.
Payment
We offer Square Payment Processing (debit or credit card) which is a secure form of online payment. If you are in our free collection and return area and would like to’ Pay on Collection’, please contact us before ordering.
Please note: We do not store, or see, full debit or credit card information, this is all encrypted by Square.
Returns
Please notify us immediately if there are any issues with the ‘Delivery Products’, such as DVD’s or USB’s. We will rectify any issues, or replace the products as quickly as possible or within 5 working days.
If there is any damage to a parcel or missing items, please notify us within 7 working days so we can take it up with the courier service. We do not accept any responsibility for the loss or damage to your media, and will only reimburse you for the cost of blank media. This is due to the unavailability of insurance to cover items of undefined value.
Cancellation & Refunds
Please notify us immediately if you wish to cancel your order. If we have already started capturing your media, we will only charge you for the work we have done and will refund the rest to you in full. Refunds will be processed within 5-working days and will be a refund/part refund to your original payment method. Once the refund has been processed, please allow 10-working days for it to appear in your account.
Collection & Return, Posting and Drop-off
If you order 15 or more tapes or similar media and live within a 15 mile radius of the NN12 postcode area, we will collect and return your media free of charge. We will contact you to arrange collection, similarly we will contact you to arrange a time for your completed order to be returned.
If outside our free collection and return service, please box up your media carefully, using bubblewrap or similar to protect in transit. Make sure our address is clearly displayed on the package. Use a fast, registered service, we recommend Royal Mail Special Delivery (next day) and is a reliable service available from your local Post Office. There is a flat rate of £5 to return your order by post.
Please note, we do not accept any responsibility for lost or damaged items in the post.

File Information
We will do our best to label your content, we do not accept responsibility for any incorrectly named files or media. If you want accurate naming of files or media, please detail this information on a printout with which tape etc it refers to.
General Conditions
We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone for any reason at any time.
You agree not to reproduce, duplicate, copy, sell, resell or exploit any portion of the Service, use of the Service, or access to the Service or any contact on the website through which the service is provided, without express written permission by us.
The headings used in this agreement are included for convenience only and will not limit or otherwise affect these Terms.
Accuracy, Completeness & Timelessness of Information
We are not responsible if information made available on this site is not accurate, complete or current. The material on this site is provided for general information only and should not be relied upon or used as the sole basis for making decisions without consulting primary, more accurate, more complete or more timely sources of information. Any reliance on the material on this site is at your own risk.
This site may contain certain historical information. Historical information, necessarily, is not current and is provided for your reference only. We reserve the right to refuse any order you place with us. We may, in our sole discretion, limit or cancel quantities purchased per person, per household or per order. These restrictions may include orders placed by or under the same customer account, the same credit card, and/or orders that use the same billing and/or shipping address. In the event that we make a change to or cancel an order, we may attempt to notify you by contacting the email and/or billing address/phone number provided at the time the order was made. We reserve the right to limit or prohibit orders that, in our sole judgment, appear to be placed by dealers, resellers or distributors.
You agree to provide current, complete and accurate purchase and account information for all purchases made on our website. You agree to promptly update your account and other information, including your email address and postal address, so that we can complete your transactions and contact you as needed.
